With the exception of triathlon, not yet a full-fledged NCAA sport, it's been a horrendous first semester for Arizona State athletics.
None of ASU's five established fall sports – football, volleyball, soccer, men's and women's cross country – made the postseason. The volleyball and soccer coaches lost their jobs.
So, for the first time in the 24-year history of the Directors' Cup, the Sun Devils will finish with no points in the final fall standings.
ASU trails Arizona 3.5-1.5 in Territorial Cup Series standings, and UA took the football Territorial Cup with a 56-35 victory.
