The countdown to kickoff continued with the Sun Devils taking the field on Sunday at the Kajikawa practice fields. For the first time ASU was game-planning for season-opening foe Kent State with a good core of players wearing yellow scout team jerseys.
It was also the first morning practice, other than those at Camp Tontozona with school set to start this week.
Leading off
Coach Herm Edwards talked about running a scout team for first time and had stressed that those players are equally important. He pointed to sophomore safety Cam Phillips who started last season on the scout team and was in the starting lineup at the end of the season.
