It's a fine line for Arizona State football coaches this week.
They're preparing a team that hasn't played since Nov. 7 due to COVID-19 issues against an opponent in UCLA that hasn't missed a game since the Pac-12 began playing a month ago.
Common sense favors the Bruins (2-2), a 42-32 winner over ASU last year. Yet in the weirdness that is 2020, the Sun Devils (0-1) are a 3 1/2-point favorite although that's down from an opening six-point spread.
"I don't look at that time off as a positive advantage," offensive coordinator Zak Hill said Tuesday.
