For the first time the Arizona State football team played in back-to-back weeks and it has shown in the progress the new offense is making under Zak Hill, particularly in the passing game.
The Sun Devils have gotten a consistent showing from the stable of new running backs but the passing game was where Hill and coach Herm Edwards wanted to see improvement and the Sun Devils have responded.
ASU managed 277 yards against UCLA and then followed that up with 227 yards in Saturday's 70-7 thrashing of Arizona. The Sun Devils didn't necessarily have to throw a lot against the Wildcats after jumping out to a sizeable lead early, but Hill says his troop of young receivers are more on the same page with sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels than they were in previous games.
