What began as a slow start turned into a strong finish for Arizona State in the team’s first game of the 2017 season. Now, ASU will look to start 2-0 with SDSU coming into Wells Fargo Arena.
For the first time in 18 years, Steve Fisher was not on the Aztecs sideline for opening night. The man who revitalized SDSU basketball retired last April, making way for his long-time associate head coach Brian Dutcher to take the reins.
Dutcher handedly won his first game as head coach in a 91-52 romp over San Diego Christian. He showed off the depth of the Aztecs with 10 players each receving at least 15 minutes in the win.
