It was important enough for Randall McDaniel to attend Herm Edwards' introductory news conference on Monday that he took a personal day off from his elementary school teaching job to catch a flight from Minnesota to show his support for Arizona State's new football coach.
Mike Haynes, Eric Allen and Darren Woodson similarly traveled from out of town for the occasion because of their respect for Edwards and belief that he will lead ASU to consistent on-field success that has eluded the football team since the Frank Kush era.
All four are in ASU's Athletic Hall of Fame with Haynes and McDaniel in the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
