Last season Arizona State offensive lineman Jarrett Bell was paying his dues. At that position it's tough for an athlete to come in and play right away. So he worked in the weight room and focused on learning the team's offensive schemes.
That should pay off this season with the 6-foot-5, 299-pounder bidding for a starting spot. He worked out at center earlier but is now looking like the possible starter at right guard.
That suits him just fine.
"I like right guard more just because I can play faster," he said, after Friday's practice at the Kajikawa practice field.
