ASU football co-defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce is "interested" in the Arizona football head coach position, according to a report.
The report, from Sun Devil Source, also said that Pierce, a former Arizona Wildcats player, has had "serious conversations" with officials from the school about the position.
Pierce, known as a strong recruiter, came into the ASU program with Herm Edwards. He is currently the team's co-defensive coordinator and associate head coach.
He played 137 regular season games (and seven playoff games) with the Washington Redskins (2001-04) and New York Giants (2005-09).
He was the captain of the Giants defense for five seasons, including 2007 when he helped them to a Super Bowl win over the previously undefeated New England Patriots.
