Arizona State won five of their first six games largely on the strength of the defense. On a rainy Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium, the Sun Devils' offense continued to struggle mightily, this time against one of the nation's top teams in a 21-3 loss to Utah (6-1, 3-1).
The loss dropped the Sun Devils (5-2, 2-2) out of a four-way tie for first place into a tie for third place with Arizona.
Two streaks came to an end. ASU entered the game having matched an FBS modern record with 125 straight games scoring double-digit points, tied with Louisiana Tech (2008-18).
