The Arizona State Sun Devils filled their last vacancy of their staff. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported on Monday that Herm Edwards was bringing along Minnesota Vikings defensive line assistant Robert Rodriguez to be the Sun Devils’ defensive line coach.
Rodriguez will replace Jamar Cain, who accepted a job with Oklahoma to coach outside linebackers. He played at UTEP as a linebacker from 2001-2004. He’s had plenty of success coaching defensive line stars for the Vikings such as Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen.
The departure of Tony White and Danny Gonzales has led to the idea that Arizona State will move away from the 3-3-5 defense.
