Arizona State football was picked by the media to finish last in the Pac-12 South, and at midseason, that's where the Sun Devils stand, tied with UCLA.
But that far from paints the full picture of the Sun Devils in their first season under coach Herm Edwards. They are 3-3 overall (1-2 Pac-12) against a schedule currently ranked No. 30 nationally (Sagarin) with a win over Michigan State (currently No. 24 AP) and three narrow road losses.
ASU at minimum has given itself a chance to qualify for a bowl, and 64-year-old Edwards has won over many skeptics at least in the short term.
