Arizona State (6-4, 4-3 Pac-12) continued its trend of close games, defeating visiting UCLA 31-28 on Saturday at Sun Devil Stadium.
Out of the Sun Devils' 10 games, seven have been decided by a touchdown or less. Coach Herm Edwards' team has three wins by three points (Michigan State, USC, UCLA) and four losses by seven points each (San Diego State, Washington, Colorado, Stanford).
Saturday's win secured the Sun Devils a bowl berth and kept them in control of the Pac-12 South.
Against UCLA, the Sun Devils had a 10-point lead twice, the first time at 24-14 after a 1-yard touchdown run by Eno Benjamin with 8:13 left in the third quarter and the second at 31-21 after a 1-yard touchdown run by Manny Wilkins with 3:56 left in the game.
