Arizona State had to cancel its regularly scheduled week-long training-camp trip to Camp Tontozona this season, but the Sun Devils still took a day to visit the cool pines.
On Wednesday, Herm Edwards took his players and coaches on a one-day visit to Camp Tontozona, located about 17 miles east of Payson, for some team bonding.
The week-long trip was called off due to construction delays in putting in a new artificial turf field. Rain in the White Mountains prevented heavy equipment from installing a shock pad and the turf on top of aggregate layers already in place.
