The Arizona State football program secured its fourth pledge in the last week with weakside defensive end Gharin Stansbury of Franklin High School in Franklin, La., announcing his decision on social media.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder picked ASU out of 15 offers. The Sun Devils were the lone Pac-12 offer. Among the others were SMU, Houston and Kansas.
Head coach Herm Edwards and recruiting coordinator Antonio Pierce have talked about recruiting size and athleticism and Stansbury falls into that category as seven of ASU's 12 commitments so far are from athletes 6-5 or taller.
He is the 12th pledge of the 2021 cycle, with his recruitment led by new defensive line coach Robert Rodriguez.
