When Arizona State and the Cardinals hired head football coaches almost a year ago, I was certain one had made a wise choice and the other a mistake.
Turns out I was right. And all wrong.
I didn’t give Herm Edwards much of a chance of succeeding at ASU, and I thought Steve Wilks would successfully guide the Cardinals into a new era.
A season of football has passed and just the opposite is true.
Under Edwards, the Sun Devils exceeded almost everyone’s expectations. They finished 7-5, contended for the Pac-12 South title and beat Arizona.
