Marana native Trenton Bourguet served as the backup quarterback to sophomore Jayden Daniels last season. In 2019 he came to the school as a walk-on and did an admirable job running the scout team.
Well Bourguet no longer has the label of walk-on, putting out on social media Friday that he has been placed on scholarship.
Bourguet, a 5-foot-11, 185-pounder, has been praised by head coach Herm Edwards and offensive coordinator Zak Hill for his contribution and the manner in which he has served as understudy to Daniels. He has said he plans to become a coach one day and has embraced the opportunity of working with the staff.
