TEMPE, ARIZ.-- In the final round of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference Championship Tournament, Sun Devil Water Polo (13-11, 6-6) fell to #2 seed UCLA (13-4, 9-3), 12-7, to place fourth. This is the highest podium finish for the Sun Devils since 2014 when ASU defeated USC to appear in the NCAA Tournament for the second time.
The Bruins were able to pick up three goals in the first period, but an offensive surge for the Sun Devils with three unanswered goals in the second period tied the game at four. The two teams were knotted at the half with four goals a piece, but the Bruins were able to hold ASU to one goal in the third period, outshooting the Sun Devils by four goals.
