Arizona State University new head football coach Herm Edwards will make $2 million a year in guaranteed salary under contract terms going to the Arizona Board of Regents for approval on Wednesday.
That's $1.2 million less than the annual salary for Todd Graham, who was fired Nov. 26 after six seasons leading the Sun Devils.
ASU is offering the Edwards, a former NFL coach who has not coached in a decade, a five-year contract through Dec. 31, 2022, with annual raises of $250,000.
The salary is among the lowest in the Pac-12, according to salaries compiled by USA TODAY.
