LAS VEGAS — Arizona State football coach Herm Edwards had a surprise visitor waiting for him Wednesday morning when he arrived at Bishop Gorman High School where the Sun Devils are holding their practices for the upcoming Las Vegas Bowl this week.
Terry White, a former teammate of Edwards at San Diego State, lives in the area and stopped by to see his former Aztec teammate, whom he had not seen since 1977.
White works as a referee in the Big 12 and called the conference championship game between Oklahoma and Texas.
He said he tried getting a hold of Edwards during his playing days with the Eagles but had no luck going through the team.
