The Arizona State baseball bullpen threw a second consecutive shutout Friday night, manhandling Cal State Fullerton 10-0 in a series opener.
Six pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, five days after eight pitchers worked in a five-hit 5-0 shutout over Utah.
"We're going to have to do it with the circumstances we're dealing with right now," ASU coach Tracy Smith said. "It's not the most conventional way to do it. We've got enough pieces to still throw together some really quality innings."
Smith said he is preparing not to have a third starting pitcher, Erik Tolman, for the rest of the season.
