ASU basketball team slips past Washington for two-game sweep

What a difference two nights can make. When Arizona State and Washington squared off on Tuesday the Sun Devils won by a whopping 33 points.

The most recent showdown went down to the wire and again ASU prevailed 80-72 on Thursday at Desert Financial Arena.

The game was tied at 72 with 1:56 left but ASU took the lead at 74-72 on two free throws by Alonzo Verge with 1:16 left.

Washington (5-19, 4-15) shot the ball considerably better than it did two nights ago but it made just two of its last 10 shots.
