ASU Baseball: Sun Devils rout Washington State behind stellar outing from Peery

The first three ASU batters of the night made it clear that the Sun Devils (13-5, 2-2 Pac-12) were happy to be back in the confines of Phoenix Municipal Stadium. After a series loss at Oregon last weekend, Arizona State returned home Friday night in grand fashion, routing Washington State 10-0 (12-6, 1-3).

On the mound, freshman Brock Peery was dominant in his first career start.

Tracy Smith’s latest Friday night experiment, Peery was masterful in his 6 u2154 innings of work. His final line boasted just 70 pitches, with six hits allowed and five strikeouts. When pitching coach Jason Kelly finally took the ball from Peery, he was greeted by a standing ovation from the 1,176 fans in attendance.
