Arizona State signee Glenallen Hill Jr. was selected in the fourth round of the major league draft Tuesday by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Hill is a shortstop from Santa Cruz, Calif., and the son the 13-year major leaguer Glenallen Hill, who committed to ASU before signing professionally with Toronto as a ninth-round draft pick in 1983.
The 5-9 Hill Jr. has until July 15 to sign with the Diamondbacks or commit to three years at ASU. He was the Sun Devil signee expected to go highest in the draft out of a 16-player recruiting class that signed in November.
