The second Sun Devil is headed to the Bay. After the San Francisco Giants took outfielder Hunter Bishop with the 10th overall pick, they took Carter Aldrete in the 15th round with the 446th overall pick.
This is the second time Aldrete has been drafted after he was selected in the 37th round by the Boston Red Sox out of Monterey High School in California. Knowing Bishop and Aldrete’s friendship and the chance for him to return to his natural infield position, there’s a good chance Aldrete signs with the Giants.
If he does sign, Aldrete with finish his career having played 164 games in three years while he collected 171 hits, 15 home runs and 107 RBI.
