ASU Baseball: Lyle Lin selected by Astros, fourth Sun Devil picked in 2018 MLB Draft

Arizona State catcher Lyle Lin was selected by the Houston Astros in the 29th round as the 882nd pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.

Lin, a 21-year-old sophomore from Taipei, Taiwan, has two seasons left of eligibility shall he stay at ASU this fall.

“He’s put a value on his experience here and he’s just going to sign his name and get out of here,” ASU manager Tracy Smith said prior to the Devils’ final series of the season against California. “I don’t think he’s in a rush. But if he gets what he’s looking for, we’d be happy for him and he’d be happy to get started.
