Former Oregon State pitcher/outfielder Kai Murphy is transferring back home to Arizona State.
A Mesa, AZ native who hit .370 in his senior season at Red Mountain High School, the Murphy name also rings a bell for many longtime Sun Devil baseball fans, as Murphy is the son of longtime former ASU coach Pat Murphy.
Of course, the former Sun Devil skipper led the program for 14 seasons and took ASU to Omaha five times, and is now the bench coach for the Milwaukee Brewers. Now his son will don the maroon and gold in Tempe.
A left-handed arm, Murphy appeared in four games with a 6.
