PHOENIX – The Sun Devil baseball team dropped its Pac-12 opener Thursday night against No. 2 Oregon State, 2-0, in front of 6,010 fans - the second-largest home crowd for an ASU baseball game since returning to Phoenix Municipal Stadium in 2015.
The Sun Devil lineup was unable to generate much offense off Oregon State's (15-1) ace left-hander Luke Heimlich. The Devils threatened with a baserunner in the fifth, sixth and the biggest threat coming in the form of two baserunners in the second.
Arizona State (9-8) starting left-hander continued his brilliant start the season.
