Ethan Long slammed his 14th home run in the bottom of the ninth Friday night, capping Arizona State baseball’s 9-6 win over Oregon State.
Trailing by a run at Phoenix Municipal Stadium going into its final at-bat, ASU pulled even on a Sean McLain RBI single. Long then took high fastball out to right center for a walk off victory in the series opener.
Long, a freshman designated hitter, has hit 12 homers in the last 12 games to move into the Pac-12 lead in that category. He struck out in the seventh inning with a runner on third and was determined to make up for that if he got another at-bat.
