ASU, Arizona baseball renew rivalry after two-year absence

It's been a long time since Arizona State and Arizona met in a baseball game.

Two years, in fact, since the last rivalry conference series in late March 2019 although there was a non-conference game later that season in early May.

The teams did not play at all in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic that ended the college baseball season before Pac-12 play began.

When they get back together starting Thursday, the only ASU position player still around from 2019 is shortstop Drew Swift while UA has three position holdovers in first baseman Branden Boissiere and outfielders Ryan Holgate and Donta Williams.
