Taeshon Cherry won't have far to go to continue his college basketball career.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Cherry, a junior, announced on social media Thursday morning that he is transferring to Grand Canyon University, which is fresh off its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
Cherry, who played at Arizona State, entered the NCAA Division I transfer portal in mid-March, after playing in seven games last season, averaging 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds, playing 16 minutes a game.
After playing his last game on Dec. 16, he left the team for personal reasons.
