Arizona State women's golf coach Missy Farr-Kaye is undergoing treatment for colon cancer.
Farr-Kaye, 53, went public with her medical status Tuesday.
She was diagnosed with colon cancer in November and began chemotherapy treatment in December. She plans on coaching this season if her health allows.
"As some close to me are aware, I am undergoing treatment for colon cancer after being diagnosed in November," Farr-Kaye said in a statement. "My doctors are optimistic as we caught it early and treatments have begun, and we are confident being cancer free will happen.
"Chemotherapy has started and the plan is to coach this spring and be with our team as much as I can.
