Arizona State basketball coach Bobby Hurley has tried to tone down his sideline antics this season and until Saturday night he had succeeded. But the Sun Devils were in dire need of a win and that was apparent in Hurley's intensity.
The Sun Devils got what they needed, surging past Utah, 83-64, in Pac-12 play Saturday night at Desert Financial Arena. While the Sun Devils needed a win, so did Utah, with the loser of the contest relegated to cellar dweller in the conference.
Hurley was animated, pumping his fist when the Sun Devils made a great play and arguing with the referees when a close call went against his team.
