TEMPE, Ariz. – When Sun Devil Football hosts the Washington Huskies on Saturday for homecoming, the grass will not be the only thing green at Sun Devil Stadium — so will the electricity.
This year, Sun Devil Athletics purchased 49,000-kilowatt hours of renewable energy from Arizona Public Service (APS), which translates to enough green energy to power the stadium for the remaining home games. This is the seventh-consecutive year Sun Devil Athletics and APS have partnered to bring green sources of electricity to Sun Devil Stadium.
“Sustainability is one of the core components of both Arizona State University and Sun Devil Athletics,” Vice President for University Athletics Ray Anderson said.
