LAS VEGAS – It would be going overboard to bill Andre Adams as a wild card for Arizona State basketball in its Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinal Thursday against No. 5-ranked Oregon.
But by coming back from two major knee surgeries to contribute late this season, the 6-9 redshirt freshman is showing that he does have a role going forward as ASU looks to build its front court to become a legitimate Pac-12 contender.
Adams has played in just 40 percent of ASU's 32 games, seven of those with nothing to show in the box score. But he had five points and five rebounds in an upset of USC on Feb.
