Although Arizona State pulled within a touchdown late in last Saturday’s loss at Stanford, a familiar nemesis surfaced throughout the game.
The Sun Devils are giving up big plays again, a problem they never fully have solved.
Make no mistake: Much of this had to do with Bryce Love, an elite running back who should get Heisman Trophy consideration for as long as he remains in school. To date, the Stanford junior has nine rushes of 40-plus yards. Nobody else has more than five.
But often, ASU made it too easy for Love.
