Football players watch a lot of film and for Arizona State sophomore linebacker Tyler Johnson, that was a frustrating experience — at least last year.
Most would consider his 2018 showing a success. He earned a starting spot halfway through his freshman year, emerging as a pivotal part of the Sun Devils youth movement on defense. He finished with 38 tackles. He had 20 quarterback pressures over the last seven games with six tackles for a loss in the same stretch.
But he was playing injured and on film, he can see how limited he was.
"I hate it," he said of the film ritual.
