TUCSON - Arizona State track and field picked up nine victories and recorded 10 new personal records Saturday in Tucson at Arizona's Desert Heat Classic. Eight Sun Devils and both ASU 4x1 relay squads moved into top-50 on the NCAA outdoor qualifying list with their performances. Long jumper Amanda Carty highlighted the day with a 6.39m PR that earned her a spot in the ASU top-10 all-time list.
Carty's best distance came on her final attempt and ultimately put her just seven inches behind event-winner Essence Thomas of Oklahoma and moved the recent transfer to 26th on the NCAA outdoor qualifying list.
