TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 8 Sun Devils struck first and tied the score twice late in the second quarter but No. 3 UCLA ultimately pulled away for a 12-9 win in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) action.
Lieke Rogge scored first for ASU in the first minute of play before UCLA took a 3-1 lead. ASU pulled within one, 3-2, by the end of the first quarter as Bente Rogge scored her first goal of the match in a team-leading three-goal effort.
UCLA scored early in the second quarter before Amira Van Buren and Maud Koopman scored back-to-back goals to tie it up, 4-4.
