Zack Greinke tipping pitches? Pedro Martinez thinks so

As sure a sign as any that a starting pitcher’s outing didn’t go according to plan – the presence of postgame questions about tipping pitches.

Zack Greinke probably didn’t hear much of that last season, but he did on Monday night after his Diamondbacks debut, in which he gave up seven runs in four innings in a 10-5 Opening Day loss to the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field.

Rookie Trevor Story connected for a pair of homers off Greinke, the first coming in the Rockies’ six-run third inning.

Greinke hadn’t given up seven earned in an outing or six runs in an inning since 2012 and hadn’t allowed three homers in a game since 2009.
