Zack Greinke’s spring debut was largely uneventful. He retired each of the six batters he faced on Monday afternoon, needing just 16 pitches to do so. Moreover, he managed to reach a miles-per-hour threshold to render moot any questions about his velocity.
Now that he has arrived – albeit late – to Salt River Fields, settled into a routine and started a game, Greinke seems positioned to make his fourth spring training with the Diamondbacks the one with the least amount of intrigue.
