Zac Gallen exits early with right hamstring tightness; Diamondbacks fall to Giants

Diamondbacks right-hander Zac Gallen suffered another injury on Friday night, exiting his start against the San Francisco Giants with what the team called right hamstring tightness.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Gallen will undergo an MRI exam on Saturday.

Gallen crumbled to the ground in discomfort after delivering a pitch to the Giants’ Wilmer Flores in the top of the third inning of a game the Diamondbacks would go on to lose, 11-4, at Chase Field.

For a moment, Gallen sat in the grass in front of the mound, looking around in apparent frustration. He was soon back on his feet under his own power, but he departed the game after a long visit on the mound with manager Torey Lovullo and a member of the club’s training staff.
