Following his club’s loss to the Chicago White Sox, manager Torey Lovullo announced that Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly will be making their 2024 spring training debut later this week.
Gallen, who finished 3rd in Cy Young voting last season, is scheduled to pitch against the Texas Rangers on Thursday, a matchup that seems fitting considering Gallen’s last start came in Game 5 of the World Series, which ultimately marked the end of their season. Gallen tossed 6.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run in this start.
Then, on Friday, Merrill Kelly is scheduled to start against the Chicago Cubs.
