The Diamondbacks and Rockies resume play after the All-Star break Friday at Chase Field, and I’ll be there. It's just one game out of 162 this season, but for me it means much more. Friday is the 50th anniversary of the first major-league game I attended.
I’ve been thinking about Friday's game for a long time, and what it means to me. I’ve also been thinking about that first game, at old Yankee Stadium. Been thinking about what ties them together, and what separates them. About how much baseball has changed — and how still it's the same game that grabbed me as a kid and has never let go.
