Walker placed on paternity leave list

CINCINNATI -- D-backs starter Taijuan Walker will not make his scheduled start Thursday after flying back to Phoenix to be with his wife Heather for the birth of their first child. Patrick Corbin has been tasked with starting in his place.

Walker -- who is 6-4 with a 3.61 ERA in 15 starts this season -- learned the news that his child would be coming soon after Wednesday's game. He flew out of Cincinnati early Thursday morning.

"What's really funny is that today is the actual due date," Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said.
