SAN DIEGO – For the past two offseasons, the Diamondbacks have found themselves in an unusual position – unusual, at least, relative to franchise history. They have been searching for help in center field.
That prolonged search thus far has not yielded any results, at least not as of Tuesday, the second day of the winter meetings. Finding a top-flight center fielder has never been an easy task for teams; much like shortstop and catcher, it is a position at which the demand tends to exceed the supply.
