Jackson starter Bo Takahashi tossed five and third innings with only three hits and two earned runs allowed, an impressive outing under pressure considering his rough outings after his promotion to AA early in the regular season. After allowing a two-run homer in the bottom of the second, Takahashi retired 10 of the next 13 hitters to take Jackson into the sixth inning with a 6-2 lead. Michael Blazek would take over after Takahashi allowed a third run in the sixth, and would retire the next two batters to end the inning, but would allow three runs in the seventh.
