Silvino Bracho knows the drill. He ought to by now, he’s been through it so many times. The undersized right-hander gets called to the major leagues, inserted into an often worn down Diamondbacks bullpen, then, a few days later, gets sent back to Triple-A.
He knows what they’re going to tell him when he gets here and what they’ll say when they send him out. He is stuck in a Groundhog’s Day scenario. He just hopes with more outings like Tuesday’s, he’ll get to stick around for good one day.
Bracho tossed a scoreless seventh inning in a one-run game at Chase Field, watched as the Diamondbacks rallied to take the lead in the bottom of the inning, then was feted by his teammates with a beer shower after earning the first major league win of his career in a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.
