In addition to getting pounded on the field 8-1 by the Atlanta Braves on Monday evening, the Arizona Diamondbacks received bad news off the field. Tuffy Gosewisch was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee and is done for the season, according to Jake Rill at mlb.com. Gosewisch hurt the knee while running out a ground ball during last Wednesday’s loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
The 31-year old catcher is slated to have surgery later this week with recovery time expected to take six to eight months.
