With the NL Wild Card race bound to come down to the final couple of games and the Diamondbacks searching for their first playoff appearance since 2017, manager Torey Lovullo brought in a postseason legend to give his young group of guys some advice.
Dustin Pedroia, who attended Arizona State University, participated in six different playoff runs with the Boston Red Sox. In total, Pedroia made 234 plate appearances in October.
Part of Pedroia’s 14-year career with the Red Sox included two World Series championships, making him the perfect spokesperson regarding postseason experience.
