On Tuesday night, the Cubs dramatically came from behind to eliminate the Giants in Game 4 of their division series. I am certain that substantially more people were awake for the end of that game than were awake for the end of Game 3, which reached its conclusion around midnight San Francisco time.
As an aside, start times for the last few postseasons have been terrible for the fans. They are good only for the TV networks. The Blue Jays are the team for all of Canada, a country which spans four time zones. Yet every game of their division series last year started during the day time on the east coast, because there was a chance going into the postseason last year that the Yankees would be facing the Royals in the other series, and the executives preferred the Yankees to the Blue Jays or Rangers.
